Cacao (or also known as Cocoa) has been used for thousands of years by the Aztec and Mayan civilizations as a sacred and magical food due to its many healing and nutritious properties. Our Cacao Powder is made from cacao beans grown organically in the heart of the Amazon rainforest and is rich in polyphenols, healthy fats, and minerals.
Naturally delicious and non-alkalized, we use traditional methods to ensure a high quality and nutrient-dense raw powder. Right after harvest, our cacao beans are slowly fermented at room temperature and sun-dried under the Amazonian sun prior to being cold-milled into a powder. As we source cacao from a non-volcanic area, our Cacao Powder is low in Cadmium and other heavy metals. Third-party lab tests show that our Cacao Powder has 70% less Cadmium than other leading brands.
Organically grown under an Agroforestry system in the Xingu region of the Brazilian Amazon, our cacao benefits from healthy soil and ideal weather conditions that yield high-quality cacao beans. In addition to helping regenerate the flora of devastated areas within the Amazon rainforest, agroforestry is also one of the best methods to cultivate an outstanding cacao flavor. Around 200 families sustainably harvest our cacao and promote forest conservation awareness.
